Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
NDTV reports,
"“Government will take into account the concerns of religious groups like Christian church before decriminalizing homosexuality.” |
I wonder why religious groups should be taken into consideration for decriminalizing consensual sex between adults. If those religions do not approve of homosexuality, they can keep it to themselves and their followers. In a secular society, the concerns of any one religious group are strictly confined to its voluntary followers and its dogmas are not binding upon rest of the society. No religion has the right to force its ideas on other secular and non religious people.
Now, I must confess that I am also totally disgusted at the thought of two hairy men humping over one another. But, unlike those arrogant and insensitive religious theocrats, I don't ask for my subjective opinions to be made into laws. I hold it indecent and immoral for a heterosexual majority to dictate terms to a homosexual minority on how to have sex.
Nevertheless, I thought we voted these guys back to power for good jobs, good roads, good schools and no Kesabs. But, apparently, their priorities are with grown up girls kissing in their bedrooms. They want to have a national debate on girls kissing instead of letting those girls to live as they please. What a waste of tax payer’s money? We as a nation are never getting our priorities right.
